The russian corporation Uralvagonzavod has announced that it will lay off 10% of its employees. By February 2026, the company wants to cut its metallurgical and car assembly production, as well as its administrative apparatus and some services. It was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCI).

The company has already reduced the working week to four days in some departments.

According to the Center for Countering Disinformation, Uralvagonzavod is part of the military-industrial complex of the aggressor country russia. It produces T-90 tanks and other equipment for the army.

"The layoffs at Uralvagonzavod are yet another signal that the house of cards of Russia's military economy is beginning to crumble. After almost four years of excessive workload and artificial 'overheating', the defense industry cannot withstand such pace. Even enterprises that were prioritized by the Kremlin because of their role in the war are now forced to cut costs and lay off staff," the Center emphasized.
