Not only earthquake and volcanic eruption occurred in russia. Tsunami washed away plant in Kamchatka

A powerful tsunami destroyed a fish processing plant in Kamchatka after a strong earthquake. According to russian Telegram channels, the disaster covered the Alaid enterprise on Paramushir Island.

Information about the flooding appeared on July 30, but now it has become known that the wave almost completely destroyed production facilities. The plant has stopped work, and the resumption of activity in the near future is unlikely.

According to the head of the enterprise, "a wave about 2.5 meters high covered all the premises of the plant, disabling almost all the equipment."

Alaid also reported that the disaster washed away about 120 tons of salmon and about a ton of scallops into the ocean.

The event coincided with a unique natural phenomenon: for the first time since the observations, the Krasheninnikov volcano erupted in Kamchatka. The Institute of Volcanology and Seismology noted that the previous eruption of this volcano occurred around 1463.

Seismologists attribute this to a powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 8.8, which occurred on July 30. An "orange" level of danger has been declared in the region. The ash plume is moving eastward towards the Pacific Ocean, residential areas have not been affected. The local department of the Ministry of Emergencies confirmed that there are no settlements and tourist groups in the eruption zone.
