Fedorov announces plans to create analogue of American DOGE in Ukraine

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov announced plans to create an analogue of the American Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in Ukraine.

Fedorov wrote about this on Friday, July 18, on his page in Threads.

According to him, he intends to launch an analogue of the American department for several projects. The minister did not specify which projects he was talking about.

Fedorov argued for the creation of a Ukrainian analogue of DOGE by the need to urgently reduce costs and assess the efficiency of work.

The Department of Government Efficiency is an agency created in early 2025 by US President Donald Trump. American billionaire Elon Musk was appointed head.

According to Trump and Musk, DOGE was supposed to help reduce budget spending, eliminate excessive regulation, and optimize the work of government agencies.

Almost immediately after the start of work, DOGE was subjected to a wave of criticism. Its activities led to the dismissal of tens of thousands of people and the closure of several departments.

Under Musk's leadership, the work of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) were canceled.

Dissatisfaction with Musk and the DOGE he headed increased after a series of scandals caused by the activities of the agency.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in April, Politico wrote that the Trump administration intends to remove Musk from the post of head of DOGE.

At the end of May, the White House confirmed that Musk was leaving the Trump administration.
