Zelenskyy comments on Trump's words, who compared russian war against Ukraine to "children's fight in park"

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy criticized the comparison of russia's war against Ukraine to a fight between "two children", previously voiced by US President Donald Trump.

In an interview with the American TV channel ABC News, Zelenskyy stressed that such a view indicates a misunderstanding of the scale of the tragedy that the Ukrainian people are experiencing.

"This is not only about President Trump. It's about any person who doesn't live here, who is thousands of kilometers away and cannot fully feel this pain. We are not children playing with putin on a playground in the park. He is a murderer who came to this park to kill children," Zelenskyy stressed.

The Ukrainian President gave this answer after a journalist asked him whether he thought Donald Trump understood the scale of the losses and suffering of Ukraine when he compared the war to a children's fight.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the other day, during a meeting at the White House with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Trump compared russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine to a fight between "two little kids fighting in the park."

He also added: "Sometimes it's better to let them fight a little longer and then stretch them out."

According to Trump, this is exactly the analogy he made to Kremlin leader vladimir putin during their phone conversation.

The German Chancellor did not directly comment on Trump's statement, but emphasized that both leaders agree on one thing - the war must be stopped as soon as possible.

"We both agree that this war is terrible. And we are both looking for ways to stop it as soon as possible," Merz said.
