Zelenskyy and Starmer discuss further steps for deployment of Western contingents in Ukraine by phone
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Prime Minister of Great Britain had a telephone conversation, during which they discussed the possible deployment of military contingents of Western countries in Ukraine.
The press service of the British government reported this on the evening of March 31, European Pravda writes.
Zelenskyy and Starmer discussed the meeting of the "Coalition of the Willing", which took place in Paris last week. They agreed that there is a real impetus for maintaining the security of Ukraine in the long term.
Downing Street added that the British Prime Minister believes that the meeting of representatives of the General Staffs of Ukraine, France and Great Britain, which is scheduled for the coming days, will contribute to detailed planning for the deployment of contingents.
President Zelenskyy also commented on the telephone conversation with Starmer.
The Ukrainian leader said in his traditional video address that Kyiv, Paris and London are preparing a meeting of military representatives.
Zelenskyy added that he and Starmer coordinated further steps to bring peace closer and ensure the security of Ukraine.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 31, President Zelenskyy said at the Bucha 2025 summit that Ukraine wants to end the war as soon as possible. At the same time, the country wants a dignified end to the conflict.
