Mykhailo Podoliak: Launch of 150 Shaheds was response to President Trump's peace initiatives
Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podoliak commented on the telephone conversation between the US President and the head of the Kremlin, vladimir putin, and noted that in less than an hour the latter broke his own promises. Podoliak writes about this in his Telegram channel:
"Our knowledge of russians was not built by reading Dostoevsky, Brezhnev's "Small Earth", russian studies departments, and occasional visits to Moscow. For centuries we lived in the same country. They hypocritically called us brothers. Then, to our great regret, we agreed to live side by side as neighbors. Then they decided to colonize us.
The Ukrainian understanding of russian diplomacy is based on the preparation and signing of hundreds of documents, all of which the Kremlin violated when it started the war.
Therefore, after the announcement of the "air truce", we did not give a vacation to air defense units, but looked at the clock. Not even an hour passed after putin supposedly agreed not to strike at Ukrainian energy infrastructure and supposedly "gave appropriate orders not to strike," when he struck at energy infrastructure in eastern Ukraine. The response to President Trump's peace initiatives was the launch 150 Shaheds, created by the russians according to Iranian drawings, on civilian objects.
The war continues because its root causes have not been eliminated: the russians cannot accept our separateness and would rather destroy Ukraine than let it live independently.”
