Former Lithuanian Energy Minister becomes Chairman of Energoatom Supervisory Board

The former Lithuanian Minister of Energy and Chief Advisor to the President of Lithuania on Environment and Infrastructure Jarek Niewierowicz has taken the position of the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Energoatom.
It is reported that Niewierowicz is an experienced professional in the energy and infrastructure sectors; he held positions in the Lithuanian government related to the operation of the electricity transmission system, management of investment funds, and cooperation with national and transnational corporations.
Michael Kirst, an expert in the field of nuclear energy with more than thirty years of experience, became the Deputy Chairman.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in June 2024 In 2018, the Cabinet of Ministers formed the Supervisory Board of Energoatom with five members, three of whom are independent and two are representatives of the state.
In January 2024, the Energoatom national nuclear power generating company was registered as a joint-stock company.
