Cargo turnover of Ukrainian ports in 2024 reaches record-breaking figure - USPA
According to the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA), Ukrainian seaports set a new record in 2024, processing 97.2 million tons of cargo.
This is stated in the USPA report.
The authority noted that this significantly exceeds the 2023 figure, which was 62 million tons, and indicates the restoration and further development of Ukrainian maritime logistics even in a difficult geopolitical situation.
The USPA stated that the main drivers of growth were grain and ore cargo, which provided 60.3 million tons and 18.5 million tons, respectively. Grain remains the leading export item, demonstrating the strategic importance of Ukraine as a global agricultural leader.
"One of the most important achievements was the stable functioning of the Ukrainian Sea Corridor. Thanks to the coordinated work of the ports of Great Odesa, cargo turnover volumes have increased significantly compared to last year. The functioning of the corridor became possible thanks to the professionalism and selfless work of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which ensure its security," the message said.
