Ukraine receives liquefied natural gas from US for first time via Greece – President’s Office Head Yermak

Ukraine has received liquefied natural gas from the U.S. for the first time. The supply was via Greece.

The Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andrii Yermak reported this on X.

"This is more than just a shipment – it is a strategic step," the official emphasized.

According to Yermak, this was achieved despite russia's attempts to destroy the Ukrainian energy system during the war.

"We have achieved yet another victory on the energy front," stated Yermak.

On December 27, DTEK received the first shipment of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States after the LNG ship moored in Greece.

The shipment of approximately 100 million cubic meters of gas or 1 TWh of energy aboard the Gaslog Savannah arrived at the Revithoussa LNG terminal on Friday morning. D.TRADING, DTEK's European trading subsidiary, bought the entire cargo.
