Zelenskyy tells Macron that putin instructed troops to reach borders of Kursk Oblast, for this russian grouping increased to 60,000
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has informed French President Emmanuel Macron that russian dictator vladimir putin instructed troops to capture Pokrovsk in the Donetsk Region and reach the borders of the Kursk Oblast of the russian federation, for this the russian grouping in the Kursk Oblast was increased to 60,000.
This is stated in the message of the Office of the President about the telephone conversation between Zelenskyy and Macron, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
" The Ukrainian leader described in detail the battlefield situation. In particular, the tasks set by the Russian dictator for their command: take control of Pokrovsk and advance to the borders of the Kursk region, even at the expense of heavy personnel losses. For this purpose, the Russian group in the Kursk region was increased to 60,000. At the same time, Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukrainian warriors are holding their positions and destroying Russian potential in the border area, which is very important," the report says.
Zelenskyy also informed Macron about the consequences of the shelling of Ukrainian civilian infrastructure by the russian federation and thanked France for its readiness to help with the urgent strengthening of air defense, in particular at the tactical level.
The leaders instructed to intensify the dialogue between the defense ministries on the joint production of certain types of weapons.
Separately, Zelenskyy thanked France for its military support: the supply of defense packages, including long-range capabilities, the training of the Anne of Kyiv Brigade and the expedited process of transferring Mirage aircraft.
The Presidents agreed that it was necessary to hold a meeting at the level of Ukraine's key partners to maximize and timely strengthen Ukraine's positions.
Zelenskyy stressed that this was necessary in order to bring about a just peace, and this can only be done on strong positions, which is why Ukraine needs an invitation to NATO, the expansion of long-range capabilities, and the continuation of the training and manning of brigades - both on the territory of allied countries and within the framework of the development of the idea proposed by France regarding training missions on Ukrainian territory.
Zelenskyy also stressed that he expects decisive signals from the meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council, which will be held at the level of foreign ministers.
