Staff meeting decides to increase number of mobile fire groups in regions most heavily shelled by russians
On Monday, November 11, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, at which it was decided, in particular, to increase the number of mobile fire groups in the regions most heavily shelled by the russians.
Zelenskyy announced this in the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Held the Staff. Heard a report on the further strengthening of air defense. A decision was made to increase the number of mobile fire groups in the regions that are priority targets for russian terror," he said.
Zelenskyy added that the implementation of the previous decisions of the Staff on better training and equipping of mobile fire groups is ongoing.
He also said that a report on a complex program against russian guided aerial bombs (KAB) was heard at the Staff, and there are promising technological solutions.
In addition, there was a report on the current state of the Ukrainian missile program, including the development of its own guided aerial bombs, reports on three-year contracts for manufacturers of drones and other types of weapons.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in November, the US Ambassador to Ukraine, Bridget Brink, reported that the US had financed 800 mobile fire groups, which had shot down more than 200 Shaheds since the beginning of the year.
On November 2, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction, Maryana Bezuhla, stated that the air defense forces were being transferred to the infantry, due to which, in her opinion, the Shaheds were being downed worse. After that, the correspondent of the Ministry of Defense, former head of the public relations service of the Air Force, Yurii Ihnat, confirmed that many people from the units of the Air Force are sent to the infantry. However, he denied that this affected the quality of the downing of the Shaheds.
