Border guards show what Vovchansk in Kharkiv Region, destroyed by russians, looks like now
Ukrainian border guards shared a new video from Vovchansk, Kharkiv Region. On it, you can see what the city has turned into during almost six months of fighting.
The video was published by the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
In the video, you can see almost completely destroyed residential apartment buildings. Nothing remained of most of them, only the walls of some survived.
This level of destruction indicates that the occupiers are actively using guided aerial bombs and heavy artillery to attack the city.
The russian offensive in the north of the Kharkiv Region began in early May 2024, and the battles in Vovchansk itself began on May 13. It took the occupiers six months to destroy the city, which had a population of just under 20,000 before the full-scale invasion.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in early October, British intelligence revealed why the offensive on Vovchansk ended in failure for the russians.
It will be recalled that on September 24, it became known that units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine cleared the Vovchansk Aggregate Plant, on the territory of which enemy units were blocked for several months.
