Almost half million US dollars and her son's russian passport found at head of Mykolaiv regional medical and social expertise center

The head of the regional center of medical and social expertise of the Mykolaiv Regional Council, Vira Beliakova, was exposed in corruption schemes for evaders. During the searches, they found more than USD 450,000 and a collection of jewelry.

This was reported by the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU).

In particular, most of the seized money and jewelry were found in the apartment of her son, an intern at a medical university, at whom the SSU also found a russian passport.

According to available data, the young man obtained citizenship of the aggressor country at the former Consulate General of the russian federation in Odesa before the start of a full-scale war.

Also, to hide illegal income, the official registered three undeclared apartments on her son.

According to the investigation, during 2015-2023, the head of the center of medical and social expertise indicated in her declarations exclusively official profits for a total amount of slightly more than UAH 2 million.

In addition, it was established that in 2023, the official issued the 2nd disability group for herself and her son in order to receive additional benefits and social benefits from the state.

On the basis of the received materials, the issue of serving the official with suspicion is resolved.

An investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime.

Comprehensive measures to expose corruption in the ranks of the center of medical and social expertise were carried out by SSU employees in the Mykolaiv Region under the procedural guidance of the Mykolaiv specialized prosecutor's office in the field of defense of the Southern region.

The Security Service of Ukraine does not specify the name of the head of the center of medical and social expertise, but according to the Ukrainian News Agency’s sources in the law enforcement agencies, it is about Vira Beliakova.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he has convened a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council and expects tough decisions due to abuses occurring in medical and social expert commissions.

In October, journalists showed the incomes declared by the heads of regional centers of medical and social expert commissions.

In addition, the Ministry of Health canceled the disability of 74 persons liable for military service established by the Khmelnytskyi medical and social expert commission.

Meanwhile, the chief prosecutor of the Khmelnytskyi Region said that he got disabled at the workplace while studying the case materials.
