Farmers harvest 39 million tons of grain and oil-bearing crops
As of September 13, agricultural enterprises have harvested 30.08 million tons of grain and 8.2 million tons of oil-bearing crops from an area of 10.9 million hectares and 741,500 tons of sugar beet.
This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
So far, 21.7 million tons of wheat have been threshed from an area of 4.9 million hectares, as well as 5.5 million tons of barley from an area of 1.4 million hectares, 1.1 million tons of corn from an area of 255,300 hectares, and 461,600 tons of peas from an area of 212,200 hectares.
Besides, 110,400 tons of millet were threshed on an area of 56,800 hectares and 88,200 tons of buckwheat on an area of 56,200 hectares.
Also, 3.415 million tons of rapeseed were threshed on an area of 1.3 million hectares.
2.97 million tons of sunflower seeds were threshed on an area of 1.5 million hectares, soybeans - 1.8 million tons on an area of 909,500 hectares.
The agricultural producers of the Vinnytsia Region, who threshed 2.1 million hectares, are the leaders in terms of grain harvesting, and the agrarians of the Khmelnytskyi Region are the leaders in yield, with an indicator of 62.9 centners per hectare.
Almost all regions harvest sunflowers.
Farmers in the Vinnytsia, Volyn, Lviv, Poltava, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy and Chernivtsi are harvesting sugar beet.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, farmers have started harvesting early crops.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food predicts a decrease in the harvest of grain and leguminous crops by 6.7% to 56 million tons in 2024 compared to 2023.
