Pentagon reports transfer of "a small number of forces" by russia to Kursk Oblast
Against the background of the operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk Oblast, the redeployment of certain russian military units to this region has been recorded.
This follows from a statement by the Pentagon / Major General Patrick S. Ryder during a briefing in Washington.
The American official noted that the number of russian forces transferred to the Kursk Oblast is small.
According to him, the U.S. Department of Defense is observing signs that russia is "moving a small number of forces to the Kursk Oblast to respond."
At the same time, he added that the United States continues to record certain successes of Ukrainian troops in this region.
The Pentagon representative did not specify which russian units are being moved to the Kursk Oblast and whether they are transferred from the front in Ukraine or other regions of russia.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on August 20, the Ministry of Defense of the russian federation announced the creation of three new groups of troops to protect the Bryansk, Kursk, and Belgorod Oblasts.
Meanwhile, the ISW announced that the russian army had transferred a brigade from the area of the settlement of Chasiv Yar to the Kursk Oblast.
