Farmers harvest 30.6 million tons of grain and oil-bearing crops
As of August 9, agricultural enterprises have harvested 27.3 million tons of grain and oil-bearing crops from an area of 7,741,000 hectares
This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
At the same time, farmers of the Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Poltava, Odesa, Kherson, Kirovohrad, Cherkasy and Chernivtsi Regions have completed harvesting early grain and leguminous crops.
So far, 20.94 million tons of wheat have been harvested from an area of 4,733,000 hectares, 5.2 million tons of barley - from an area of 1,367,000 hectares, and 457,700 tons of peas - from an area of 207,600 hectares.
In addition, 3.32 million tons of rapeseed have been threshed on an area of 1,220,000 hectares.
The agrarians of the Odesa Region are the leaders in terms of grain harvesting (1,072,900 hectares have been threshed there), and the Khmelnytskyi Region is the leader in terms of productivity with an indicator of 65.1 tons per hectare.
Agrarians of the Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Kherson Regions have started harvesting buckwheat and millet.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, farmers have started harvesting early crops.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food predicts a decrease in the harvest of grain and leguminous crops by 6.7% to 56 million tons in 2024 compared to 2023.
