Ukraine Calls On UN Members To Demand Russia Immediately Stop Aggression

The UN hopes power supply to Crimea will resume and the reasons behind its interruption will be investigated.

Ukraine calls on the United Nations Organization members to demand Russia immediately stop aggression against the country.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced this in a statement on occasion of the 41st anniversary of the UN General Assembly Resolution 3314 (XXIX) "Definition of Aggression," Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"The Ukrainian party urges United Nations members to demand Russia immediately stop the acts of aggression against our state, pull out Russia's Armed Forces from Ukraine's territory, cease violating the air, marine and ground borders, abandon supplies of arms and combat equipment to mercenary militants of terrorist organisations, cancel any acts purported to legalise the illegal annexation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and to deoccupy it," it reads.

Russia's aggression against Ukraine, including support to the terrorist groups in Donetsk and Luhansk Regions is a grave violation of the basis of international peace and security entailing the aggressor state's international legal responsibility.

The Ministry believes that Ukraine's and UN members' common task must remain restoration of respect to the supremacy of law, securing reliable peace and security, and preventing such acts of aggression in future.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the UN says 3,000 people are missing since the onset of the conflict in Donetsk and Luhansk Regions.

The UN hopes power supply to Crimea will resume and the reasons behind its interruption will be investigated.

The UN stands for resuming payment of pensions to residents of militant-held territories.
