Ukraine Considers Russian Federation Council's Decision On Armed Forces Use Abroad As Threat To Its National Security

The Foreign Ministry expects Russia to publicly assure of not taking advantage of the Federation Council's resolution against Ukraine.

Ukraine considers the decision of the Federation Council of Russia on the use of armed forces abroad as threat to this country's national security, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said in the press-release.

"Another carte blanche of the aggressor country for the armed forces use amid the continued aggression against Ukraine is viewed as a threat to this country's national security, and a move undermining the implementation of Minsk Agreements on peaceful settlement in Donbas on the eve of the Norman Format summit to be held in Paris on October 2, the press-release noted.

The Foreign Ministry expects Russia to publicly assure of not taking advantage of the Federation Council's resolution against Ukraine, but to consistently implement the commitments taken under Minsk Agreements and immediately withdraw its weapons and armed forces from the territory of Ukraine.

The mass media reported the Federation Council (Russia) had approved the resolution on the use of Russian Armed Forces abroad on Wednesday, September 30, and whereafter, Russian aviation had launched air strikes against Syria.

As Ukrainian News reported, the Trilateral Contact Group (Ukraine-OSCE-Russia) on Donbas agreed on September 29 to withdraw 100-mm caliber weapons in two stages.
