​Epidemiological Service Records Excessive Concentration Of Air Contaminants In Three Kyiv Districts Over Peat Conflagration In Kyiv Region On August 26

The Kyiv Municipal State Administration has announced this in a statement.

The Chief Directorate of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Service in Kyiv has recorded excessive concentration of contaminants in the air in Kyiv’s Desnianskyi, Obolon and Sviatoshyn districts over peat conflagration in Kyiv Region on August 26.

The Kyiv Municipal State Administration has announced this in a statement.

“According to laboratory findings, concentration of sulphurous anhydride in five out of 20 points in the city exceeds the norm. This is in Desnianskyi, Obolon and Sviatoshyn districts of Kyiv,” it said.

No deviations were observed in the central part of the capital or other districts.

On August 26, 10 mobile teams were deployed to assess harmful substances in the bottom layer of atmospheric air.

Moreover, the Epidemiological Service keeps daily monitoring of the air.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the State Emergency Situations Service division in Kyiv explains smoke pollution of separate districts of the capital with peat fire areas in Kyiv Region on August 26.
