Russia Deploys Nuclear Weapons In Crimea - Turchynov

He says intelligence from Ukrainian special services corroborates this information.

Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council (NSDC) Oleksandr Turchynov says Russia has deployed nuclear weapons in Crimea, he told VIII Kyiv Security Forum on Thursday.

"One of the proofs for that [Russia's aggression] is systemic work the Russian Federation is doing to deploy offensive nuclear weapons on the temporarily invaded territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea," said the NSDC Secretary.

He says intelligence from Ukrainian special services corroborates this information.

It goes of deployment of ground, naval and air armaments, Turchynov added.

Moreover, he says, Russia has embarked upon deploying guided missile systems Iskander-K, Iskander-M and also 152mm self-propelled howitzers 2S19 Msta-S and 2S3 Akatsiya and missile systems Bal.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Russia is of the opinion that absence of a threat of using nuclear weapons against Ukraine by it proves its observance of the Budapest Memorandum.
