Ukraine To Issue Eurobonds For USD 1 Billion Backed By USA By May

The redemption date supposes to be May 16, 2019.

Finance Minister Natalie Jaresko has started meeting with Ukraine's main creditors and expects the country to issue USD 1 billion in U.S. government-backed debt by the end of April as part of a larger IMF-backed loan package, she told Reuters in an interview.

"People are taking U.S. government risk in this case. That is why they give a credit guarantee, otherwise we wouldn't have access to the market at this time," Jaresko said.

The redemption date supposes to be May 16, 2019.

The interest rate on securities will be paid annually on November 16 and May 16, starting from November 16, 2015.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Ukraine intends to receive USD 5.461 billion from international partners by the end of 2015 in addition to the Program of the International Monetary Fund.

According to the published data, Ukraine will receive USD 3.233 billion in the first half of 2015, namely eurobonds worth USD 1 billion, USD 500 million from the World Bank (in April-June), USD 1.032 billion from the European Union, USD 702 million from other countries (Japan, Canada, Switzerland, Norway).

The issue of eurobonds for USD 1 billion, obtainment of USD 500 million from the World Bank and USD 728 million from the EU are planned for the second half of 2015.
