European Human Rights Court Orders Russia To Give Explanations To Ukraine's Claim Against Crimea's Annexation By March 25

"Ukraine's application to the European Court of Human Rights is being processed, and Russia shall provide its explanation by late March. Of course, it will try to drag out the term," the minister noted.

The European Court of Human Rights has ordered Russia to give explanations to Ukraine's claim against Crimea's annexation by March 25, Minister of Justice Pavlo Petrenko said at a news briefing.

"Ukraine's application to the European Court of Human Rights is being processed, and Russia shall provide its explanation by late March. Of course, it will try to drag out the term," the minister noted.

According to his words, if Russia does not provide the explanations timely, Ukraine will send a copy of the Russian movie "Crimea. Way to Home," where President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin unveiled the plans for Crimea's annexation, to the European Court of Human Rights.

The minister thinks the statements in the movie could stand as testimony.

According to Petrenko, Ukraine is collecting evidence to other two claims to be filed to the European Court of Human Rights.

The minister stressed one should not expect quick examination of Ukraine's claims in the European Court of Human Rights as they were large.

As Ukrainian News reported, Kyiv Institute of Forensic Examination claimed the violations of international law in the statements made by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Minister of Defense Sergey Shoygu.
