Ukrainian Military Not Pulling Back Equipment And Weaponry From ATO Zone Over Terrorists' Constant Violations Of Ceasefire

The Ukrainian military are using all types of arms and equipment the army has in its inventory.

Ukrainian military are not pulling back heavy weaponry from the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone, as was provided for by the Minsk accords, because terrorists all the time are violating the ceasefire, National Security and Defence Council information centre spokesman Andrii Lysenko has told a news briefing

He remembers that the Memorandum, signed in Minsk, stipulated bilateral cessation of fire, and after that retraction of weaponry by 15km.

"As long as the assailing party is not ceasing fire, the Ukrainian party is not withdrawing weaponry and continuing to defend those positions the Ukrainian military are holding today," Lysenko stressed.

In his words, the Ukrainian military are using all types of arms and equipment the army has in its inventory.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe will augment its monitoring group for observance of the ceasefire condition in the ATO zone to 500 observers and its annual budget to EUR 76 million.
