Russia Court Extends Ukrainian Officer Savchenko's Arrest Till October 30

Before, the tribunal granted the officer's lawyers' motion on entering upon the case records the video of questioning of the incidents eyewitness Taras Syniahovskyi.

The Sovetsky Court of Voronezh (Russia) has extended Ukrainian officer Nadiya Savchenko's detention in custody till October 30, Savchenko's defence counsel Mykola Polozov wrote on Twitter.

"Despite the all absurd of reasoning and the defence's bail of RUR 1 million the court has extended the term of detention of N.Savchenko in custody till October 10, 2014," Polozov wrote.

Before, the tribunal granted the officer's lawyers' motion on entering upon the case records the video of questioning of the incidents eyewitness Taras Syniahovskyi.

In addition, Polozov wrote on Twitter that Savchenko will be transferred to Moscow, Russia for holding a psychiatric examination in the federal state budgetary institution State Scientific Centre for Social and Forensic Psychiatry n.a. V.P.Serbsky of the Healthcare Ministry of the Russian Federation.

"Soon Nadiya Savchenko will be transferred to Moscow for a psychiatric examination in the Serbsky Institute," he announced.

The lawyer says the Voronezh Region Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia has refused to open a case upon the abduction of the Ukrainian officer.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Court of Voronezh Region (Russia) has refused to change the pre-trial restrictions and free Savchenko on bail of RUR 500,000.

Savchenko's defence team demands the Investigative Committee of Russia to investigate her abduction from Ukraine's territory.

On July 7, the Novousmanovskyi Court of Voronezh Region took Savchenko into custody till August 31.

The Investigative Committee of Russia has brought charges against Savchenko of aiding and abetting the murder of two correspondents with the Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (VGTRK) in Luhansk Region.
