Kazakhstan's Nazarbayev Does Not Regard Ukraine-EU Association Agreement Obstacle For Cooperation

Kazakhstan is set to develop bilateral cooperation with Ukraine.

President Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan does not regard the Ukraine - European Union Association Agreement an obstacle for cooperation between Ukraine and Kazakhstan, reads a statement made by the Presidents Petro Poroshenko's press service.

On August 26 Poroshenko met with Nazarbayev in Minsk, Belarus

During the meeting the pair discussed prospects of development of Ukraine-Kazakhstan relations.

"For Kazakhstan the Ukraine - European Union Association Agreement is not an obstacle," said Nazarbayev.

He remarks, Kazakhstan is set to develop bilateral cooperation with Ukraine.

Moreover, Poroshenko believes it is necessary to develop a form of interaction and building a model of cooperation between the Ukraine-EU free trade area on the one hand and the Customs Union countries on the other.

This will help remove all hurdles in the development of trade relations.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the meeting of Poroshenko, Vladimir Putin of Russia, Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus, Nazarbayev and high ranking officials of the European Union has started in Minsk.

Poroshenko notes that the deputies continue working until the early parliamentary election and their key task is to ratify the Association Agreement wit the European Union in September.
