EU Imposes Restrictions On Development Of Infrastructure Projects, Exploitation Of Natural Resources In Crimea And Sevastopol

In addition, sale, supply, or transfer of key equipment and technology for the exploitation of natural resources in the Crimea and Sevastopol are prohibited.

The European Union has imposed restrictions on development of infrastructure projects and exploitation of mineral resources in the Crimea and Sevastopol, states the official journal of the European Union dated July 30.

According to the document, sale, supply, or transfer of key equipment and technology for creation, acquisition, or development of infrastructure projects in the transport, telecommunications, and energy sectors in the Crimea and Sevastopol by nationals of member states of the European Union, from territories of member states, or using vessels or aircraft under the jurisdiction of member states are prohibited.

In addition, sale, supply, or transfer of key equipment and technology for the exploitation of natural resources (oil, gas, and minerals) in the Crimea and Sevastopol are prohibited.

Acquisition or extension of participation in enterprises established in the Crimea and Sevastopol that are engaged in the exploitation of oil, gas or minerals in the Crimea and Sevastopol and supply of equipment to them are prohibited.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the European Union has imposed sanctions on Russian businessmen Arkady Rotenberg, Konstantin Malofeev, Yuri Kovalchuk, Nikolai Shamalov, and four other people close to Russia's President Vladimir Putin, as well as on three companies because of the situation in Ukraine.
