09:43 On Tuesday, July 1, Ukrainian security agencies exterminated over 1,000 pro-Russia militants in the anti-terror operation (ATO), Zorian Shkiriak, an advisor to the Internal Affairs Minister, writes on his Facebook page.

Shkiriak remarks, during the first day of resumption of the ATO active phase the National Guards and the Armed Forces of Ukraine forces changed over to the offensive.

"They cleared Russian Federation's mercenaries from several strategical towns in Donetsk Region and Luhansk Region, and also regained control over the border post Dolzhanskyi," the minister advisor underlined.

He says destruction packed local strikes at terrorist bases and positions wiped out more than a thousand militants.

Shkiriak informs, separatists are ready to lay down arms and are trying to negotiate a corridor for retiring to Russia or guarantee of amnesty for those who did not commit grave offenses.

The ATO forces have taken under control settlements Zakotne, Brusivka and Staryi Karavan in Donetsk Region.

 

11:35 Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) predicts grain harvest in Crimea of over 1 million tons, Ukrainian News learned from a statement made by the agency.

In particular, it is expected to reap 400,000 tons of barley and some 650,000-700,000 tons of wheat.

Crimea has given up on growing rice.

Before, the Ukrainian grain association forecast receiving short of 1.5 million tons of grain in the 2014 harvest over the situation in Crimea.

 

12:12 On July 1 unidentified persons blew up two railway sections Ilovaisk - Kuteinykove and Ilovaisk - Mospyne in Donetsk Region, Ukrainian News learned from a statement made by the state rail transport administration Ukrzaliznytsia.

"On July 1 at 16:15 a rail track was blown up on the Ilovaisk-to-Kuteinykove block... under a freight train moving at the speed of 45 km/h," it said.

Because of the blast the fourth wagon from the head derailed.

No victims to report; at 19:10 the wagon was raised up and at 23:55 train movements was opened on both lines.

According to the statement, on the same day at 16:15 unidentified culprits blew up the 57th km of track on the Mospyne-to-Ilovaisk block, 1.5km of trunk line damaged.

Train movements resumed at 22:45 with speed limit of 40 km/h.

Ukrzaliznytsia brings to notice: unauthorised interferences continued on the railway in Donetsk Region with impairment and thefts of technological equipment.

"On July 1 at 02:35 on the Hrodivka - Zhelanna haul malefactors opened a apparatus case and stole the relay and transformer. Operation of equipment was restored at 06:00," the statement said.

It underlines, the equipment theft delayed seven freight trains and two passenger trains: 342 bound for Luhansk - Sevastopol and 92 bound for Luhansk - Odesa.

On June 25 Ukrzaliznytsia resumed train movements on the Ilovaisk - Kuteinykove section in Donetsk Region, where 14 freight train carriages had derailed on June 22 for unidentified persons had blown up a rail track.

 

13:30 Minister of Economic Development and Trade Pavlo Sheremeta refutes the allegation of his resignation, he has told Ukrainian News Agency.

"This is not true. I wrote no resignation letter," said Sheremeta.

13:39 On Wednesday, July 2 the Basmanny Court of Moscow, Russia sanctioned an arrest of chairman of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Ihor Kolomoiskyi in absentia, a RIA Novosti correspondent has announced from the courtroom.

The Court motivates the judgement with governor at large may commit new crimes, intimidate witnesses and wronged persons, destroy evidence or otherwise encumber establishment of truth with regard to the case.

"Kolomoiskyi has ties enabling him to hide in the European Union. Taking into account gravity of the accusation presented, the Court does not see the possibility of choosing any softer measure of restraint," the ruling reads.

The judge says she has no returns that the state of the governor's health forbids him from staying under restrictions of pretrial detention centre.

Meanwhile, lawyer Oleksandr Fomin, appointed by court, objected the arrest in absentia and said he would challenge the ruling.

In June the Investigative Committee of Russia demanded a court to arrest Kolomoiskyi.

 

15:53 On July 1 three military were killed and 10 wounded in the anti-terror operation (ATO) in Donetsk Region and Luhansk Region, National Security and Defence Council information centre spokesman Andrii Lysenko has told a news briefing.

"Over the 24 hours terrorists 19 times shot up motor convoys, roadblocks near the inhabited localities Porichya, Kryva Luka, Olenivka, Svatove, Slovyansk, Kramatorsk and also on the roadblocks on the mount Karachun. Three servicemen were killed, 10 wounded," he said.

He says in the early hours of July 2 terrorists delivered a mortar attack on the ATO forces roadblock on the mount Melova.

He says no one was hurt.

Lysenko says the ATO forces delivered strikes on 120 terrorist assets.

In his words, he has no explicit data on terrorists' losses.

16:31 Russia has closed three checkpoints on the border with Ukraine, National Security and Defence Council information centre spokesman Andrii Lysenko has told a news briefing.

"Yesterday Russia closed three checkpoints on the border with Ukraine in Donetsk Region: Hukovo, Donetsk and Novoshakhtynsk, via which terrorists had been easily penetrating our country before," he said.

Lysenko says Russia has set up roadblocks on the mentioned border posts, reinforced by heavy armoured vehicles.

As to the NSDC the posts prohibit pass of militants who try to leave Ukraine.

On June 28 Kharkiv Region beefed up security of its boundaries with Donetsk and Luhansk Regions.

 

16:38 The National Security and Defence Council says Donetsk Region and Luhansk Region locals' attitude towards the anti-terror operation (ATO) servicemen has improved, NSDC information centre spokesman Andrii Lysenko has told a news briefing.

Lysenko says gas and electricity supply is being restored in the freed settlements Zakotne, Staryi Karavan and Brusivka, and also providing humanitarian aid to locals.

On June 28, law-enforcers with help of local dwellers detained a Russian Federation's subverter in Mykolaiv.
