Anti-Corruption Bureau: Interrogation Of Poroshenko Possible Following MP Onyschenko Allegations About President's Involvement In Corruption

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau does not rule out interrogation of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko following Member of Parliament Oleksandr Onyschenko's allegations about involvement of the President in corruption.

Bureau Director Artem Sytnyk said this in an interview for the Fifth Channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Artem Sytnyk notes that the National Anti-Corruption Bureau has launched proceedings under article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (giving bribe) following Onyschenko's allegations.

However, Artem Sytnyk says he sees Onyschenko's allegations about involvement of the President in corruption as an attempt to politicize his own case to divert the attention from his economic offences.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Onyschenko says that information about Poroshenko's acts of corruption was sent to U.S. special services.

The U.S. Department of Justice though said that they had no intention of meeting with Onyschenko.
