Ukrainian Klykh Convicted In Russia Transferred To Chelyabinsk - Lawyer

The defence team to Ukrainian citizen Stanislav Klykh convicted in Russia says that he was transferred to Chelyabinsk.

His lawyer Ilya Novikov said this at 112 Ukraina TV channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The defence learned this on January 9.

Ukrainian Mykola Karpiuk, sentenced together with Klykh, was transferred to Vladimir to a high-security prison in December 2016.

The lawyer believes that the only possible variant of release of Klykh and Karpiuk is their exchange for RF nationals arrested in Ukraine.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights Valeria Lutkovska has asked Ombudsperson of the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova to initiate transfer of Ukrainian citizen Stanislav Klykh convicted in Russia to an institution located most closely to the border with Ukraine.
